Aww, welcome back to me!! (Thank you, me!)
I am so courteous to myself at whateverthecrapitis o'clock in the morning. I think my internal clock is all messed up, I'm back from fabulous London and I had a great time.
David got that trip so he flew it out, it was fun to hear him on the PA system sounding all pilot-y. Most of my flight attendant friends that take that trip routinely were on vacation but there were a few on the trip so I had a nice flight out. First class, again, the food was absolutely delicious. Joseph and Molly gave me a nice sendoff at the gate, with a shiny book to read all about London and blew kisses and waved as the plane pushed back.
I didn't do too much sight seeing there this time, but once everyone was off duty and rested, we took the train into Victoria Station, and saw "Wicked" the Musical , which was the untold story of the witches of Oz. I LOVED IT.
David got us the best seats possible, which were in the stalls, like two seconds away from the stage and not far behind the orchestra pit. I felt like the orchestra was underappreciated. We were so close you could see the sparkles of makeup on the actors' faces. Glinda was beautiful, and I realized that Kristen Chenoweth, from Pushing Daisies had that role in the original Broadway version. I don't know much about musicals, this being my first one, but she was born to play Glinda for sure. The girl who was cast this time did a great job too. But, again, coming from me, I know that's not much since it was my first musical.
Before that, I had the best pasta I'd ever tasted at a restaurant right down the street from the Apollo Victoria theatre, which was called Prezzo, I think.
I missed my kids something awful, but I embraced the ability to go do something that was for me. In rehab they kept saying, focus on you, but I thought it was unfair that THAT got to be my ME time because it effing sucked and I hated it.
This blog isn't really full of much, and I am now officially sleepy, but I'll continue it and maybe add some pictures. I'd also like to add that I ended up going through Philadelphia instead of Charlotte on the way out, and the dude next to me looked at lesbian porn the whole way and it was so weird because he was with his girlfriend and she didn't care about the porn or the embarrassment of sitting next to someone reading pornified reading material with boobs everywhere on the airplane where everyone could see it. I was embarrassed enough for everyone. I was trying to read my book but I kept seeing all those raunchy pictures. The magazine was called Nuts and if that wasn't bad enough, his friend was in the aisle across from me and they passed porn back and forth and made remarks about sticky pages. EW!! I finally broke down and realized it would be okay to take an ambien with 7 hours left to go on the plane and the guy kept wiggling around in his seat and adjusting his , ahem, position after certain pictures caught his attention extra long. YUCK!!!!
It was extremely awkward.
I wanted to take a picture and prove it but then I would have looked like a damn weirdo too.
WHO READS PORN IN CLEAR VIEW OF OTHERS ON A PLANE ?!?!? SERIOUSLY??? REALLY??? Only the guy in the seat next to me. That's how the universe works.
Love you all the way to the moon!
